Canada eTA is an entry requirement that is open only for citizens or passport holders from eligible countries. As per the Canada eTA requirements, travellers who are lawful residents of the US or holders of US Green Cards are exempt from the need for Canada eTA to enter and stay in Canada.
At check-in, you'll need to show airline staff proof of your valid status as a permanent resident of the U.S.
When you arrive in Canada, a border services officer will ask to see your passport and proof of your valid status as a permanent resident of the U.S. or other documents.
Please note that travellers must provide proof whenever needed. During check-in, the airlines might require travellers proof documents to verify their status. After arriving in Canada, the Border Security officials will ask for the documents to check the traveller’s US permanent resident status, so do not forget to carry them. Upon failing to provide the documents, travellers entering Canada will be denied entry by the officials.
